OSCARS 2011

And the Oscar goes to...

But as we all know there's a LOT more to the OSCARS then just those lucky few whom actually get to bring the gold man home.. how about What they WORE!!!

Ok so lets start with one of the HOTTEST colors to wear on the red carpet.. RED!

absolutely LOVED Anne's dress! She looked gorgeous! and although her and Jame's got some not so great commentary on their performance I loved the 2 of them! Great job for some fresh faces!

I can honestly tell you that Jennifer Hudson may just be my ALL time award season winner for best dressed this year!  She looked stunning!

Although I cant say Sandra was necessarily one of my Favorites! I thought just like the other ladies she did a great job pulling off this bold bright color! I also thought it was a step-up from her "too young" bangs she wore earlier in the award season!

And now for the more nudes, and metallic jeweled looks!

At first I wasn't in love with Michelle's look, however after seeing her in a few different angles, and how much it seemed to just fit her right in all the right places, it quickly turned into one of my favorites!  She has become such a gorgeous woman and one can truly see her maturity through this gown!

Although Florence may of made it on many of the "worst" look lists, I actually really liked her in this!  She's not going to be super glamorous, and thats ok! I loved the flowy dress that matched her flowy hair!  For her this look worked!

Oh Gwyneth!  I just adore her, and really as many said she looked like her own Oscar! (even if that may be corny!) Her drop dead body looked amazing in this super sleek gold gown!  And I loved her super straight hair with it all!

This was another look that I wasn't crazy about, right away! (especially with the headband) But as I saw her on the carpet, I realized for this young 14 year old it was perfect!  I loved the shorter hemline on her, she doesn't need the long gown, come on shes ONLY 14!

Ok so I admit that as much as I do LOVE me some feathers and sequins, Hilary Swank might of gone over board just a little!  If the dress was cut a little shorter I think it could of worked, however as many people have already made the comments, it looked like she was trying to dust the red carpet...

Don't get me wrong I do adore Amy Adams! I think she is extremely talented and absolutely gorgeous, but NOT last night!  her hair was a little too-big and out of control, and although I do LOVE me some sequins (as said previously) this was just too much, and by far the WORSE was the emerald choker necklace, we don't need diamonds on sequins...

I can't say this is my all time favorite on Mila, but this was a gorgeous dress, and I think it was great to see Mila in this soft lavender color!  It had just enough detailing without going overboard!

And last and unfortunately probably LEAST..was my disappointment in Reese! Oh how I normally just love her, but I couldn't of liked this gown on her anymore.. It reminded me of Julia Robert's dress back in 2001 at the Oscars, although it was quite different, I just feel like the black and white gown was years AGO! (wayy too much beauty queen, and NOT movie super star!)

Well I hate to say it but it looks as if the fun has come to an end.. until next year!
and of course a HUGE congrats to all the winners and nominees!

Fit Fridays!

Ok so you have almost made it a COMPLETE 2 months in, how are you feeling?  Are your New Year's resolutions as bright as they were 2 months ago..or have you slowly drifted away from the gym and deeper into the couch?

Not to worry think of this as you RE-Motivation Month! Or as I like to refer it as your very on March Madness right back into fitness! (ok so maybe I am going a little out there..)

But in all seriousness its not too late to get back into the swing of things, and with Spring Break (if your lucky enough to still have one) or your other fun spring and summer vacays fast approaching what better motivation is there!

Whether your hitting the beach or not, we all want look our best in those cute summer fashions (shorts, shoulder bearing tanks, summer dresses)

Plus now that it is FINALLY starting to warm up, you don't need to solely rely on your gym membership, take advantage of these next few months before things just get WAYY too hot!  Go hiking, meet up with some friends and kick the soccer ball around, actually ENJOY running outside! There's just NOT enough months out of the year where you can enjoy this perfect of weather!

BYE BYE excuses! And HELLO to re-MOTIVATION!

And for some of you whom may need another jump-start, Thanks to SELF Magazine's Bob Harper here is his

2011 Bikini Body Countdown with The Biggest Loser Trainer Bob Harper

Cardio Workout #1: Circuits
The Bikini Body Countdown (BBC) strength plan is already set up as a circuit, because you're not resting between moves (obviously, if you need to take a breather, go for it). But you can also alternate between doing strength moves and cardio (e.g., jumping rope or doing step-ups on a bench). Just add 30 seconds to a minute of cardio between each set of Bikini Body strength exercises and only rest at the end of each circuit.

Cardio Workout #2: Intervals
Twice a week, do this interval workout with any form of cardio. If you're doing it inside on a machine, use the speed, resistance and/or incline buttons to increase the intensity. For more short workouts that really pay off, check out these interval training plans.

Cardio Workout #3: Hills
Once or twice a week, crank up the incline/resistance and power up and down a few 4- to 6-minute hills (this cardio plan works with any form of cardio). Or blast 500 calories fast with this indoor cycling plan packed with hills.

Cardio Workout #4: Distance
Once a week, carve out 45 minutes to an hour for a moderate intensity (an RPE of 5-6) cardio workout. You can hike, walk, run, bike—whatever you enjoy. Workouts like these typically burn hundreds of calories (if you're maintaining at least a moderate intensity) and longer workouts can even keep your metabolism revved for a few hours after you finish.

Cardio Workout #5: Living Room Fat-Burner
Stuck at home without a cardio machine? While you may look around and think there's nothing you can do without equipment, you'd be mistaken! Try this quickie power circuit that requires only your body weight. Do it several times and you've turned your house into a gym!

So get out there, enjoy this weekend by getting some Vitamin D and doing something fun with your friends!  I promise when Monday rolls around you will feel motivated, energized and ready to take on what every comes along in the next week!

Happy Weekend!

What to Wear Wednesday (WTWW) Swimsuits!!

Ok, so maybe it's because we got our first real taste of Spring last Friday, or maybe today marks my exactly only 2 weeks until I can wear one, but today (partially because my lack of style advice, currently) and because I am desperately awaiting to get out of the COLD, I am honoring today's What to Wear to the one and ONLY SWIMSUITS!!!

Whether you enjoy the traditional halter, or like the ultra tiny string bikini, or maybe enjoy more coverage an opt for the oh so adorable new and stylish one pieces, there is absolutely NO lack of shapes, styles and color options for every woman out there!

So go get that spray tan and run and grab a must wear and confident swimsuit and hit the sand, as soon as possible (if your anything like me!)

Here are a few fun varieties thanks to Miami's  Mercedes Benz Fashion Show:

First trend is the reds, oranges, and ultra fab bright pink! (all of this colors are sure to make you not only stand out but look super tan!)

Next trend: Turquoise, which I will say I love!! Why not take some style advice from the ocean!

Here you can see both trends of the 70s (see last weeks What to Wear) and the fun patterns that make each of these suits all their own!

And now for the one piece suits, I love how so many designers are going all out in new and fun one piece options for all women!  With the extra detailing to the fun cut-outs there honestly is a look and style for EVERYONE while still feeling more confident with the extra coverage!

And to top things off! I was in LOVE with these massive hats displayed on the runway!  Talk about fashion, plus realistic sun coverage!! I am a true believer in taking care of your skin, but I am also a sun goddess (that is when I'm not stuck up here in the north)  So I love the idea of wearing ultra large and fabulous hats!

Plus I am loving the suits and cover ups! (metallic gold, Love it!)

Well that is about it for today! Hope everyone is having a wonderful week, already looking forward to Oscar Sunday! Make sure you tune into Simple Life on Monday for all my commentary!
