Fall Favorites-- round one

Fall has too many wonderful things, to just have one post about them..

For today's first round.. my current FALL favorites are:
Riding Boots and Trench Coats!

Thanks to wonderful roommates, with great style, I was recently introduced to some amazing boots.. Corso Como!

Here are a few others that I also love!

What are your thoughts for the over-the knee riding boot?  I got my first pair last fall and still love them!  Although I will say I do see them more as a secondary boot..

And now for trenches...

Love, love the Banana Classic Khaki Trench.. too bad they were currently out of my size, this is definitely on my fall wish list..

Love this style of matching your own brown belt with your trench!!

Happy Tuesday my darlings..

its another rainy and wet day here.. ready for some of that gorgeous Fall weather to soon peek through

I Like Giving

After a recent discussion, I was introduced to this website.. ilikegiving.com

It is a campaign started by those you have done simple acts of kindness to strangers.. there are a number of short stories on the site as well as Giving ideas.. each are very simple and it truly makes one realize how easy and yet how very important and meaningful it is to give back, or to give to others!

here are some of their giving ideas:

Idea #1

Help someone with their luggage.

Idea #2

Pay for the cup of coffee for the person behind you.

Idea #3

Pay the deductible for someone else at the body shop.

Idea #4

Leave a 100% tip on your next dinner bill.

Idea #5

Sign up to serve for a night at your local soup kitchen.

Idea #6

Give a tip to someone who doesn’t usually receive one (car wash attendant, stewardess, garbage man, etc.).

Idea #7

Carry a $50 bill every month and give it to a complete stranger.

Idea #8

Go to the bus stop and pay for everyone’s fare.

Idea #9

Make eye contact with someone and give them a compliment.

Idea #10

Donate some blood.

Idea #11

Trade your first class seat with a military person walking by.

Idea #12

Pay for the groceries of the person looking through their coupons.

It's time to stop thinking only for ourselves and to start thinking how we can impact others!

Happy Monday my dears!

Velvet for the Fall.. a do or don't?

Ok because I am oh so inspired by the upcoming cooler months, I thought I would incorporate today's Do or Don't into a fashion that is primarily only seen in the cooler months!

That is velvet!
For some you may have bad memories of that velvet Christmas day dress that you were forced to wear as a young child, year after year... for others it may just bring back a memory of a beautiful red velvet bow you got atop a favorite present.. but either way I am here to show you how to incorporate (if you choose) this silky texture into your fall and winter wardrobes!

Actually loving these velvet shorts matched with the all black (lower) ensemble of black tights and military black boots!

I also am loving velvet pants, they just seem so perfect to wear snuggled up by a fire! (ok maybe thats a little much!)
but you all get the point!

Love these velvet platforms! Although slightly unrealistic, due to the crazy unexpected rain and snow..  The pumps above are also beautiful!  This is a fun way of incorporating some velvet into your style without overdoing it!

So there you got it, is velvet a do or don't for your fall fashions this year?

Happy Thursday my dears!

it's almost here... Fall!

So FALL officially begins tomorrow! I LOVE fall, I think part of it is that for 20 some years I never had a true fall and since moving to a climate where I actually do get to experience the four seasons I try to make the very most of them!

So here is to all great things fall!  My roommate sent me this Fall Bucket List, and we know have one copy up in our very fall-themed house plus I have one at my desk, so I thought I would also share this gem with all of you!

What is on your fall bucket list?

The Worse of the Worst.. Emmys 2011

Sorry but last night's Emmy's were ones that I hope to quickly forget... The fashion police must of been quite busy! I agreed with many of the awards that were given out, but as far as fashion goes.. wow I guess it was left at the Oscars..

So let's just get down to it..

As much as I really do love these ladies, and we all know how stunning Gwyneth is, I actually made a comment last night on how gorgeous she looked, but it was strictly only a headshot.. what was her stylist thinking?

Now as much as I LOVE this color, both dresses in my opinion were an utter disaster..  Katie's way of down-playing this gown with the messy up-do was nothing less than disappointing..

And now onto the red... I will say this I didn't hate either of these looks, and the back of Lea Michele's dress definitely put it up a few more points in my book, but again I was overly impressed with either..

even the dudes, didn't do much better.. come on did someone forget to measure their suit size before getting dressed, personally it looks like he can hardly move in this...

dont get me started on this one.. its the emmys not a science/ space cadet show..

And lastly, I actually really do like her, but come on wayy too much fabric and not at all flattering.. I guess they don't teach the reality stars about the extra 10 lbs the camera adds!

But because I am a believer in leaving on a good note, I will have to say Jane Lynch looked great all night and personally I kinda loved her as a host..

Well that's all for this Monday...
Hope everyone had a great weekend!
