Friday Favorites!

I think due to the excitement of an earthquake and now a presiding hurricane I feel like this week has flown by..and to top things off, I am off early to run up to Pittsburgh for the weekend! (thankful to get away from the bad weather, but slightly nervous about making our way back on Sunday...)

Anyways feeling so inspired thought I would share my Friday favorites this week!

First things first, this has now become my morning routine, the first time I tasted Greek yogurt plain was NOT a fan..but a few month ago found the FAGE with fruit, obsessed!  makes even those non-believers into believers of the stuff! 

(give it a try I promise it wont disappoint!)

 Not sure if it's my way of embracing this weather, but I am finally starting to get ready for fall, and loving the trend to continue a bright yellow throughout the cooler months ahead!

We are actually off to Pittsburgh for more than just to get away, we will be attending a wedding at the University's chapel (above) isn't it lovely!  Looking forward to not only the wedding but to explore a new city!

and finally, I dare not mention.. a birthday was this past Tuesday, and due to my busy schedule I lacked in its own post, but I do know this very special lady in my life (my mama) knew how much I was thinking about her!! 

Love you Mom! and to many more years of Fabulous!

Thigh High..a Do or a Don't??

 

So for today's Do or Don't I am welcoming in a fall trend, the thigh high socks! for the first time ever last year I overcame a fear of "Pretty Woman" over the knee boots that don't make you look like a ..... well you get the point, and I fell in love with the boots!  So this style is one that I am willing to give a second thought.. plus as seen later I love the look with the over the knee boot, so I may just have to give it a try..  

Anyways have you all seen this style, what do you think..?  As always I will be sharing a few photos so you can make your own judgement on the Thigh High socks!

Love this mix of the very feminine sparkly mini with the thigh highs and then the more manly trouser flats! 

Runway is also loving this trend, are you??

 from the runway to literally just running around town, this style can truly go many places!

What To Wear Wednesday! (WTWW) Cropped Jackets!

OK, so first things first, for all of us east coasters.. WOW, and may I say congratulations we all survived a major earthquake.. I was 14 floors up and the very last thought even after all 3 shakes happened was a quake.. Little Florida girl can handle her hurricanes and lightening storms..BUT earthquake, well that was a new one for me!  however it is Wednesday and I think we've all heard enough about Tuesday's event so I will get back to business..

Today's what to wear, is all about the outwear and a style that you won't need to wait until its freezing outside to sport.. its the Cropped Jacket!

There are many styles and varieties out there, and none that are boring, or look like you stole your little sister's jacket..

I recently read about this fall trend, and immediately loved it, soon after I was browsing through Forever, (which rarely happens anymore but I have panic attacks there.. another story in itself) But i did spot a great denim khaki/ brownish cropped jacket...

 

Surprisingly they actually had more than one, and I immediately purchased it! I will have to say it is great getting a new style/ trend at a cheap price in case you find out once its at home you never actually will wear it in public..however for this trend, it is not the case! (already have worn it twice!)

As you can see, they come in all colors, textures and styles.. dressy-casual, rocker- hippy

So go out a grab one, or maybe search in your own closet

"I have Nothing to Wear"

Thanks to a good friend of mine, who shared a link with me, and of course major thanks to the Today show for this segment, I was recently inspired!  

We all hit those moments that we look into our overly stuffed closet, and say.. "I have Nothing to Wear"

Well Jill Martin's new book is not only titled that but she also let us all know her secret..and its one that I personally found very surprising considering the question..

Now when you feel like you have nothing to wear, your last thought would be to start THROWING out clothes..right?  

Well Jill's solution is just that.. so as hesitant as I was in this advice, I thought it was also the perfect time for me to actually try this method, especially considering I am about to make my THIRD move in two years and desperately need to down-size my closet!  

Last Friday, being that I got very lucky and had the day off I vowed to myself I would start cleaning/ packing and re-organizing for my upcoming move..  6 LARGE trash bags later (including 3 of clothes, and 2 for Goodwill)

 

I was extremely proud of myself!  Within just a few hours I felt like I had a new closet!  (it could of also helped that I started packing up all my heavy winter items) but still it was VERY refreshing! 

So it may not be Spring Cleaning, but there's always PLENTY of reasons to get cleaning!  

I promise it will transform your closet!
