Peek a boo Shoulders!

Ok so the trend of cut-outs is well EVERYWHERE.. and thanks to Rooney Mara and her latest cut out fashions you can find them everywhere from the subway to the red carpet..

But a new fashion trend that I personally am still on the fence is specifically the Cut-Out Shoulder!  Here are a few looks..again the styles can be worn on a "warmer" date night to weekend wear

from the runway to...

Claire Daines styling on the carpet in cut-outs..

stylish everyday looks..
whether you wear it matched with black leather booties to a beautiful spring lunch party..

LDB should cut outs

Finally Heidi in skinnys and a patterned cut out blouse

So are you rocking this cut out fashion?
I think I will wait until its a little warmer outside but hey I might just give this new trend a try come spring time!

Color me Denim...

COLORED DENIM.. a Do or DON'T??

Ok so we have all seen this trend come about..and for many of you I am sure you jumped right into it, and for some of us others we were hesitant.. I have to admit as gutsy as I try to be with fun (inexpensive) trends I haven't yet dared to try out this trend of colored denim (this is unless black counts?)

Tons of celebs have been rocking this look..

This spring besides the fun BRIGHT colored denim I am also seeing a ton of pastel denim, which makes this a softer more delicate look!

loving it with the chambray button down!

So what is it for you, is colored denim a DO or DON'T??

and how about the pastel? thinking I might run to H&M and see if I cant find a pretty lighter shade to try this spring...

Happy Tuesday my dears!

Winter Weekends

How was your weekend?

We got our first snow of this year, and although I did make it out of the house once or twice, the majority of my weekend was spent indoors wrapped up in blankets eating delicious food and watching movies!  (no complaints here!)

Finally watched these two films...
I know we were way over due on the Hangover Part II, which of course wasn't as good as the original but still had some great scenes!  Also I really enjoyed Ides of March, again glad I didn't spend the money to see it at the theaters, but made to be a lovely Sunday night movie!

oh and to top it all off... have you ever heard of Trader Joe's Lava cakes.. divine!
(only downfall is it only comes 2 in a package, so stoke up if you want seconds, or thirds!!)

Happy Monday my dears!

How can WE Help?

Here is to the first of (hopefully) many inspiring and uplifting posts that I would like to write this year to highlight great charities, organizations and people that inspire each of us each day...
I want to ask again for any input on any particular group you would like me to highlight..

I will start today by quickly highlighting a few local and national groups that I have been involved in over the years, I will follow-up with each on their own specific posts so you can all find out more about each one, if you so desire!

First, is one that I love and got involved in when I was first considering running my first marathon, unfortunately we all know what happened to that story but I still love to support and give a GRAND shout-out to this Local AND National organization!

here is a great video from the founder, whom I had met a few years ago, who is so kind and has such a passion for this organization and for Girls all around the world: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PkIPPhMycNA&feature=player_embedded

Second is one that many of you I am sure have heard of, but one that is also very near and dear to my heart..due to personal ties!

Throughout middle school, high school and college I had the awesome opportunity to take a part in Relay for Life, and would love to continue to help them through the DC area!

And in order to not bore you all too much, the last one I would like to make a shout out for today is another organization that my family has been closely tied into, through my mother's passion of helping the elder, and my growing passion in this as well

I would love for you all to reach out and at least take the time to learn a little more about this disease, Alzheimer's disease.. it is one that is sadly taking over many of our grandparents, parents, and friends and neighbors but through research we can help end this!

Happy weekend my darlings!!

Remember those who give back, will always GET back so much MORE in return!
