Ok..this is NOT my family..or anyone that I personally know, although it would be quite amusing to meet this delightful bunch! (pic..thanks to awkwardfamilyphotos.com)
Family..although you don't get to pick whos in yours, they really do shape who you are! I am very lucky to have grown up in a wonderful and supportive family! Immediately, there was only 4 of us and our extended family was also quite small (with less than 15) and even though we all lived miles apart to this day we are all extremely close! Yes of course I have some crazies in the crew (just like everyone else..i think?) but it wouldn't be right without them!
Why I bring up this topic today, was I was surprised by my aunt and uncle on Sunday night with a phone call about them coming into my area, considering they live thousands of miles away this was definitely a surprise! They had decided to jump in their car and just see where the road took them (well maybe not exactly..but they didn't have too much of a plan)
Anyways long story short they were making their way along some of the beautiful Shenandoah mountains and a few of the battlefields in Virginia... and thought they would stop in to see me!
I sacrificed my Monday night run, and met them at PFChangs! It honestly was more fun then I would of imagined! Its great how sometimes your family really can put things in perspective for you! (plus fun added bonus, my aunt brought me down a home grown pumpkin from their farm!)
So even at times if you don't want to make the effort, or can think of a million other things to do..make the time for your family! like they say their the only ones you got!
