What to Wear Wednesday!

Lace is an openwork fabric, patterned with open holes in the work, made by machine or by hand. The holes can be formed via removal of threads or cloth from a previously woven fabric, but more often open spaces are created as part of the lace fabric. Lace-making is an ancient craft. True lace was not made until the late 15th and early 16th centuries. A true lace is created when a thread is looped, twisted or braided to other threads independently from a backing fabric.

To me just a few years ago, everytime I thought of lace was like this:


Then in my college days..and our many "themed socials" I had my second experience with lace and a little dress up with this...Yes, to all of those, who don't believe it my first ever themed social, I did goes as Madonna in the 80's with the full lacey white attire!! (and I may still have it hidden in the back of my closet!)

But now, in today's fashion trends..lace has made an official come back! Whether you dare to wear an entire dress of it or just use a few small accent pieces it is back, and can be worn quite versatility!

I had been looking for a good versatile piece for quite some time..and had almost given up until last Friday when I finally found the appropriate lace top from Urban! I did a few weeks ago in NYC find an adorable full lace dress (not see through tho..don't worry) but after buying a few other not-so-practical pieces there in NYC I opted to wait!

So when I did find this little top from urban I was quite pleased, I have yet to wear it out, but have tried it on with a few different options and am very excited to bring it into my style soon!

My favorite look so far with it is actually a look for the office, because it is a higher neckline, it looks perfect with a cami underneath and a skinny pencil skirt!

So there it is..try a little lace, whether its just in a headband or a scarf or the full on body-suit dress I think its worth the try!
