Unfortunately about a mile into it..my feet started becoming numb (given I am running with new shoes but I've already run over 30 miles on them) my feet of course enabled the rest of my legs to also start hurting..by 2.5 mile I was really questioning if I was even going to be able to make it, I did however take a break and walk for about 30 seconds which relieved some pain and I was able to start up the run again.. this continued until about mile 6. I was able to get into a few "grooves" for about 20 minutes here and there but all in all kept stopping to walk then run again..by the tenth mile I knew I would be completing it and I also was watching my watch and saw I wasn't too off schedule (for time) but I was so mentally exhausted/ frustrated I just wanted to give up...
Thankfully I am very proud that I made it and I did make my "slow goal" for time but I knew I could of run (and not walked) the race much better! I hate feeling disappointment but I also know that mentally I was too frustrated...i think this last week has been my wall (mentally) I hope to get out of this mental head game soon and have some good solid runs this week..I'm hoping to get my confidence back and continue to train another solid month and half until my marathon...
13.1 completed..now off to 26.2! Best of luck to all those out there on the trail, and enjoy it (dont over think it, like me)
